Chlorine dioxide disrupts the protective EPS layer of the biofilm, exposing the bacteria and making them susceptible to the biocide in the bulk water. Over time, CLO2IX® will remove the remaining biofilm from the surface of the pipe.
Chlorine dioxide continually scours the pipe’s surface for any bacteria that may begin to adhere, ensuring that the pipe surface always remains clean while the biocide in the water continues to treat the bulk water stream.
